Staying with AGROTAIN International

While it has been a long time since my last post, it hasn't been a long time since I've worked for AGROTAIN International. I was very fortunate to stay on with AGROTAIN for a part time role with the marketing department. My job however hasn't really changed. I still work/monitor social media for the company, edit videos, and interview farmers and dealers about their success with AGROTAIN International products. So far these roles have fit really well with my schedule, while I'm still going to school.

The last couple weeks have been a great reminder of my job this summer. I have spent a lot of time at Bradford Farms in Columbia, MO getting a testimonial and filming the harvest of the corn. So I want to personally thank them for their help. I also visited Salisbury, MO where I got some great footage of a grower harvesting his corn. Hopefully I will be able to find a few more growers in the next couple of weeks still shucking.

I've been very lucky to stay on with AGROTAIN to get real world experience and just to have a job in this difficult time. So I also want to personally thank Mike Stegmann and Jeff Whetstine for keeping me on.

The Last Rodeo in Texas

Since my last post I have been a very busy man. After being on the road in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio I was given the privilege of being in the office and helping Carrie and Jeff set up for the annual corporate meeting. This was a great experience to see how the company works and all of its employees. I also got to give a speech to the whole company about what I've done all summer and about social media. That was the first time I had ever given a speech that wasn't for a grade so I was a little nervous at first but it turned out to be alright.

After the meeting was over I took a week long vacation to visit some family in Texas. After the vacation I stayed an extra week to get some more testimonials from growers and dealers. I had some pretty good luck in Texas, getting five testimonials ranging from around the Dallas- Fort Worth area all the way down to Austin.

As for now, Texas might be my last trip for awhile. I'm going to finish my journey here in St. Louis, and catch up with everything I have to do before I head back to school. Hopefully in a few weeks all the testimonials I've gotten this summer will be on the website.

Rolling through Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio

Another week has gone by and I've been lucky enough to visit three more great states. I left monday morning towards Evansville, IN to meet up with the regional manager for the area, Steve Parrish. The next day we headed out to meet with Craig and Ronald Small in Monroe City, IN. Both gentleman were very successful growers that gave great testimonies about Super U and Super N. After we met with them we found a place to stay and woke up the next morning and met up with Mark Litzinger in Germantown, KY. Mark is using Super U for the second year and is seeing great results so far. We finished off our day with Kyle Schwallie in Sardinia, OH and Robert King in Hamersville, OH. Like everyone else, Kyle and Robert were happy with what AGROTAIN International was helping them accomplish on their farms.

The next couple weeks I will be in St. Louis helping the marketing team get ready for the corporate meeting coming up. It should be be fun meeting everyone in the company and learning more about AGROTAIN. I also get to give a presentation on what I've done this summer with the testimonies and with social media. So the next couple weeks I will be busy but that's better than being bored.

The Great States of Arkansas, Iowa, and Illinois

After a long couple of weeks of being on the road I've had the privilege of traveling through Arkansas, Iowa, and Illinois. I started of my week last week traveling down to Forrest City, Arkansas to travel around with regional manager Josh Long. We set off that morning looking for some farmers/dealers to give testimonies about AGROTAIN. We found that to be quite difficult by only finding David Wallace out of Marianna, AR. But the day was not worthless, I did learn a ton about rice that I never knew, and how cut throat the stabilizing nitrogen business really is.

I moved on from Forrest City to Paragould, AR to travel around with Blake Gray for a day. We had a little more luck getting some testimonies from Trey Irvin and Brad Gray. While traveling with Blake I learned even more about rice and even a little about of cotton. I hope by the end of the summer I will be so knowledgeable that I will be able to start a farm with any crop or at least know what I'm talking about.

So after my week with Blake and Josh I moved on to meet with Martin Case. Martin is the regional manager for Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. I started of my adventures with Martin the first day in Illinois and then he sent me off on my own for the rest of the week in Illinois and Iowa. From there I was pleasantly surprised to get nine interviews between the two states. I won't bore you with a list of names but thanks to everyone that helped me out by giving testimonies. Next week I don't know where I'll be but I should be another great week!

A week in Missouri

It has been a great first week of traveling around and getting testimonials from farmers and dealers. After the long weekend for memorial day, I set off to visit four gentleman with Leo Gieszelmann the regional manager for Missouri on Tuesday. We started the morning with Kerry Sullivan in Montgomery City. Then we moved on to New Haven to meet Tim Engelbrecht. We finished off our day with Doug Baumgartner in Owensville and Tom Mayberry in St. Clair. All four guys were really helpful and said some great things about AGROTAIN and SUPER U.

After a day in the office on Wednesday, Leo and I headed to Columbia and Fulton to meet with Tim Reinbott and Stephen Rasmussen. Leo and I finished off the week in Versailles at Mel Gerber's land for a wheat field day. While in Versailles we noticed that AGROTAIN Plus was really working well and Mel was really excited about what the yield results will show for him.

Tomorrow I'm heading to Forrest City, Arkansas to get some more testimonials. If you know of anything that I must do while I'm in Arkansas let me know.

The Beginning

Well this is the first post of a blog I've ever done so bear with me. This summer Agrotain has hired me for an internship in the marketing department. Over the next couple of months, I will be traveling around the U.S. talking to farmers and interviewing them about their use of Agrotain products. So I'm looking forward to traveling around and getting to see parts of the U.S. that I haven't seen yet, and meeting the hard working Americans that put food on our tables.

This is my first week at Agrotain International and it has been a fun first week. Yesterday as one of my assignments I went around the St. Louis area and filmed landmarks like the zoo and anheuser busch brewery to name a few. I haven't made it to the arch and a few others landmarks yet, but once it stops raining, I'll be out video taping again.
